Creating an 'About me' page on my website

Hi!

In this post I will give you details about how I edited my 'About me' page on website.

First I started by changing main line. I changed the design and colour of the box under the text.

Here, I managed columns; I reversed the sides of text and picture and also I narrowed them to be in the centre of the page. Then I started writing some personal information about myself.

When I finished my paragraphs, I changed the font to 'Avenir Light' and changed the size of the font so it could be easy to read.

At the end, I added my picture and this is how my 'About me' page look like.
I can admit that hardest part was to manage the alignment.

Website creation

Hello!

I will show you how I created my website. Firstly, I used wix.com, which has many free templates for different kind of websites to create.

I chose Online Store category and then I clicked on Fashion and Clothing templates.

This is the template that I chose and would be suitable for my final project.

First I started by changing the text. I used Poppins Semi Bold font. Then I changed button design and added some shadows and border line. Also I added moving background but I am not sure if I am going to keep it. Furthermore, I'm thinking about to create my own logo and put it instead of initial letters.

After this, I went on Menus and Pages and started deleting pages that I don't need.

I will have four pages; Home, About, Collection and Gallery.

As you can see on this picture, I decided to change the main colour totally. I didn't like how orange looked and also blue is my favourite colour so I picked baby blue.

Then I clicked Manage Columns and deleted all of them because I am not sure what will include my home page.

And this is how my final idea of website looks like. I will put some pictures related to my work and I will have to create About me page.

Major project research

Hello,

In this post I will talk about some designers that I looked at for my final project which will be mixture of Indian traditional clothes and casual street style clothing.

Manish Malhotra

This is one of the Indian designers I searched for. His name is Manish Malhotra and this is Winter/Festive 2013 collection. He attracted my attention because his creations look really simple despite the fact that Indian clothes in general is colourful and decorated with a lot of jewellery.
I like how these creations don't look too conspicuously because he used only few colours and simple cuts.

Balmain
Pictures show Balmain Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Coming season will be all about layers, which I find connected to Indian clothes. This Balmain collection is really colourful and glossy and has some cuts similar to Indian cuts. I like the range of different colours that are used and I also like these materials with different  patterns. This make me think to design some fabrics in different colours and put them in my collection.

Final project sing-off sheet

Welcome back!

Today I am going to share with you my final project idea..

After I created a brainstorm, I had a tutorial with Zoe and I completed my  initial thoughts on this project.

As I live in Leicester, which is multicultural city, I came up with the idea to make a collection based on an Indian clothes. I am really interested in this culture and I think I have a lot of choice in their fashion I can look at.

I am not going to create a collection based only on Indian clothes, but I will combine traditional Indian elements with something contemporary and popular these days. My collection will be mixture of traditional and casual street style clothing.
Collection will be designed for women between 20 and 30 years old.

As I still don't have enough skills in programmes as Photoshop and Illustrator, my collection will be hand drawn with pencil and watercolours and then digitised end edited in Photoshop.

My knowledge about fashion designers is limited mostly on European designers, so I will search more for some famous Indian designers.
Besides, I will have to look at popular materials that are used in their culture and decide which should I include in my collection.

I am still not sure about colour palette, but I will decide soon.

Advertising making of + final piece

Hello everyone!

I want to share with you another task I had in Digital Art class. I did it as part of the group with my classmates Carolina and Lucille.

We decided to make a campaign about killing animals for clothes. We wanted to send a message to people who use animal's fur and skin for fashion that killing is not correct. Our main idea is to make people think how would they feel if roles were reversed.

So we decided to take rabbit for our animal which role is to be superior to humans, and a woman who is in pain.

Here is the PROCESS of our work:
We used Photoshop for making an advertisement.

First, we opened a picture of rabbit that we searched on the Internet and then removed the background. For removing background we used Magic Wand Tool to cut out the rabbit and then copy and paste it on new layer.

This is how it looks like after removing the background.

After, we added a picture of woman who is screaming but this time we did not have to remove background because original picture of woman already had background.
We tried to blend these two together to look like the rabbit is pulling her hair.
For this step we used Move, Rectangular Marquee, Blur and Spot Healing Brush tool.

Before adding any text we corrected all the curvy lines just to make sure that everything looks clear.
We used Brush tool in white colour and Blur tool.
And for the end, we added text with our message. We discovered different fonts and shapes of text.
*New layer has been made for every step of the process*

FINAL PIECE

REFLECTION:
If I look closer I can see that is not looking as I imagined. There are few things that could be edited in better way. I am aware of mistakes I made in editing such as connecting woman's hair and rabbit's paw. It does not look realistic. It was definitely challenging.

However, I think that our message to the world is clear and everyone can understand what we wanted to say with our campaign. Generally speaking I am happy with final outcome because neither of us had previous skills or knowledge in Photoshop. For the first time, it is quite successful.

INSPIRATION:
Here are some pictures that inspired us for our project.

Source 4

Our first idea was to show something really cruel and bloody that will shock people, but we realised that it might be disturbing and inappropriately for school area. That is why we picked just bunny simply pulling woman's hair but still effective.

Photography Sequence Homework

Welcome back to my blog!

Today I will show you another photography sequence I did as my homework but this time all by myself..

This photo shows a girl playing with her umbrella in the garden. It's taken outside of Leicester in small city named Corby. This girl is standing in front of bushes and a tree. Umbrella is blue from the outside and red from the inside. Red colour is perfect contrast to green background especially because red and green are complementary pair.  Sequence starts with girl standing with closed umbrella, and after opening an umbrella and circling around herself, it ends with her standing with red side of opened umbrella. Background is divided in three parts; the sky, bushes and the grass, which gives photo a rhythm.

This photography sequence is also part of my Digital Art Class, but this time I worked as individual. Photographs were taken by me and my model was my cousin who loves to pose.
I think my sequence was successful although I could choose another background. Maybe then the colours would pop out more and it would be more effective.

I used Samsung Galaxy  S6 Camera and edited them with Grufie Collage App.

Research:
Flying Horse

Eadweard Muybridge was one of the most influental photographers of all time. He is British photographer who immigrated to United States in 1950s. He created famous images of humans and animals in motion. His most popular image is Flying horse. It is famous because he proofed to the world that that horse can "fly". Related to this, he invented zoopraxiscope, a method of projecting animated versions of his photographs as short moving sequences.
Woman opening umbrella from Animal locomotion
I decided to look at this sequence firstly because it is related to my work. It shows a woman opening an umbrella. I like how he achieved rhythm picture by picture. Umbrella reminds me of sun rising in the morning and slowly going down at the end of the day.

Photography Sequence

Hello everyone!
Welcome back!

Today's post is a photography sequence. It tells a story about a girl picking up a flower and smelling it. There are two buildings in the background which are part of De Montfort University Campus. One of them has a wall with a view of the city of Leicester. There is also a small garden with some yellow flowers behind the girl and more closer there are some purple flowers, which are picked up by this girl.

This photographic sequence is part of our Digital Art Class. We worked as pair task, and my partner was Carolina Abreu. I, Danijela Vidic, was the photographer and Carolina was the model. We worked as a pair thinking about this idea and also worked together in editing the sequence.

We did not choose anything challenging because it was just a warming up for the next photography sequence. Maybe we could choose something demanding but I am also happy with this one because it shows clear story, which is the point of the whole project.

These photos were taken with a Samsung Galaxy S6 Camera and edited with BeFunky: Free Online Photo Editing and Collage Maker.
